THE MARY ROSE RALLY AT PORTSMOUTH
SATURDAY 21 MARCH
An informal get together at the beginning of the season with easy access by boat or by car for both boat owners and non-boat owners. The programme will cover a visit to the new Mary Rose Museum in Portsmouth’s Historic Dockyard early afternoon and dinner in Old Portsmouth in the evening. Boats will gather in Gosport, largely at Haslar Marina.
The Tudor ship Mary Rose captured the world’s imagination when she was raised from the seabed in 1982. She is the only sixteenth century warship on display in the world and the new museum built around her reunited her with many of the 19000 artifacts discovered when she was raised.
Museum Tickets: £18 for adults, £17 for senior citizens.
See attached poster for more details.
There is currently an interesting programme about Mary Rose on BBC i-player: 'The Mary Rose: a Timewatch Guide', presented by Dan Snow. Available until early March.
If you are interested in attending this rally - by boat, car or public transport - please contact the rally organiser, Maggie May by e-mail: email@example.com no later than Friday 13th March.
