YARMOUTH RALLY

16th – 17th May

It's not too early to book...
Ed and Bernie are organising the ROSC Yarmouth Rally on 16th and 17th May.  This Rally is particularly suitable for both boat owners and non-boat owners, the last ferry leaving Yarmouth on Saturday at 21.50.

For those interested in a longer sail on the Saturday (and willing to make an early start!), it should be possible to sail from Portsmouth “Round the Island” to Yarmouth.
Ed and Bernie will be hosting drinks aboard Skippers’ Rhapsody late Saturday afternoon, followed by Dinner at The Royal Solent Yacht Club, Yarmouth.

We have reserved berths on Harold Hayles’ pontoon.  Each boat will be responsible for paying its own berthing charge to Harold Hayles.
If you are planning to attend, we should be grateful if you would let Bernie know by e-mail......click the link:

We will e-mail all attendees menu choices etc. nearer the time.
Looking forward to seeing as many of you as possible

2020 Photo competition..... Following the AGM on November 3rd
Following the success of last year’s Photo Competition the Committee are pleased to launch yet another Reading Offshore Sailing Club Photo Competition. Following the format of last year there will be no formal submission date as long as the pictures are submitted the day before the AGM to be held on the 3rd November where they will be presented for voting by those members present.

If you manage to take any great pictures of any ‘on the water’ activity or club event we would love to share them with all members and choose our favorites. Once again we will be looking not just for the BEST PICTURE of the year but in addition there will be awards in different categories so don’t worry if your pictures are not up to David Bailey’s standard (David Bailey?) as we also want to capture some of the most interesting SAILING MOMENTS of our members. If you have a picture of a great achievement or something amusing that happened to you or perhaps a picture that captures something that went wrong we want to see it and share it with our members.
The competition will run over the whole season and pictures can be submitted by any member right up to the day before the AGM by email to secretary@readingoffshore.org.uk or via our WhatsApp group. If you have any questions please let Steve Giggs know.

We have regular meetings the first Monday of the month at the Upper Thames Motor & Yacht Club (UTMYC) in Sonning. If you would like more information on any aspect head to our website or if you would like to discuss any point with a committee member about our sailing club or visiting us on a Monday to say hello, click here to email Linda, our publicity officer, who will be happy to answer any questions.
ROSC was established in 1971and continues with regular meetings. You don't have to own a boat as many rallies are available by land, meals in a local hostillery are arranged with pre-meal drinks often on one of the attending boats.
